چکیده

Abstract Thermal properties of single species nucleon matter are investigated assuming a simple form of the nucleon-nucleon interaction. The nucleons are placed on a cubic lattice, hopping from site to site and interacting through a spin-dependent force, as in the extended, attractive Hubbard model. A mean field calculation in the Hartree-Fock Bogoliubov approximation suggests that the superfluid ground state generated by strong nucleon pairing undergoes a second-order phase transition to a normal state as the temperature increases. The calculation is shown to lead to a promising description of the thermal properties of low-density neutron matter. A possibility of a density wave phase is also examined.

Magnetic Properties and Phase Transitions in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Simple Cubic Lattice

Within the effective-field theory with correlations (EFT), a transverse random field spin-1 Ising model on the simple cubic (z=6) lattice is studied. The phase diagrams, the behavior of critical points, transverse magnetization,  internal energy, magnetic specific heat are obtained numerically and discussed for different values of p the concentration of the random transverse field.

Magnetic Properties in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Square Lattice

In this paper we investigate the effect of a random transverse field, distributed according to a trimodal distribution, on the phase diagram and magnetic properties of a two-dimensional lattice (square with z=4),  ferromagnetic Ising system consisting of magnetic atoms with spin-1. This study is done using the effectivefield theory (EFT) with correlations method. The equations are derived using...

Momentum-dependent mean field based upon the Dirac-Brueckner approach for nuclear matter.

A momentum-dependent mean field potential, suitable for application in the transport-model description of nucleus-nucleus collisions, is derived in a microscopic way. The derivation is based upon the Bonn meson-exchange model for the nucleon-nucleon interaction and the Dirac-Brueckner approach for nuclear matter. The properties of the microscopic mean field are examined and compared with phenom...

Calculation of the nucleon sigma term and strange quark content with two flavors of dynamical overlap fermions

We present a calculation of the nucleon sigma term on two-flavor QCD configurations with dy-namical overlap fermions. We analyse the lattice data for the nucleon mass using the baryon chiral perturbation theory. Using partially quenched data sets, we extract the connected and disconnected contributions to the nucleon sigma term separately. Chiral symmetry on the lattice simplifies the determina...

Protons and neutrons have a rich structure in terms of their constituents, the quarks and gluons. Understanding this structure requires solving Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). However QCD is extremely complicated, so we must numerically solve the equations of QCD using a method known as lattice QCD. Here we describe a typical lattice QCD calculation by examining our recent computation of the nucl...
